Orchestra Classes
Beginning Orchestra
Beginning Orchestra is available to all 4th & 5th Grade students in the Ponderosa feeder area. In this class, students will learn how to assemble, care for, and begin to play an instrument. No previous instruction is required. In orchestra, students can learn to play violin, viola, cello or string bass.
Intermediate Orchestra
Intermediate Orchestra is available to all 4th & 5th Grade students in the Ponderosa feeder area. In this class, students will build on their fundamental skills and learn to play more complex music in a variety of styles. Previous experience, such as a year of completed beginning orchestra, is required.
Class Options
Classes are offered for each school, but students are welcome to attend any option that best fits their schedules.
Option 1: Orchestra at Franktown
Beginning Orchestra: Tuesdays & every other Thursday, 8:00 - 9:00 a.m.
Intermediate Orchestra: Tuesdays & every other Thursday, 8:00 - 9:00 a.m.

Beginning Orchestra starts Aug. 29.
Intermediate Orchestra starts Sept. 3.

Option 2: Orchestra at Legacy Point
Beginning Orchestra: Mondays, 4:00 - 5:15 p.m.
Intermediate Orchestra: Wednesdays, 4:00 - 5:15 p.m.

Intermediate Orchestra starts Sept. 4.

Option 3: Orchestra at Leman Academy
Tuesdays & Fridays:
Middle School Orchestra: 2:40 - 3:25 p.m.
Combined Orchestra: 3:25 - 3:45 p.m. (MS Scholars dismissed at 3:45 p.m.)
4th & 5th Grade Orchestra: 3:45 - 4:30 p.m.
Class starts Sept. 3.
